Midwest Heart Foundation was established in 1988 as a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving the prevention and management of cardiovascular and related diseases through research, education and community leadership.
Our research has been instrumental in providing patients access to some of the most progressive treatments and prevention strategies in cardiology.
One of our primary community initiatives is identifying and preventing the loss of life from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA); a leading cause of death in the U.S. Midwest Heart Foundation is committed to addressing this problem through detection of those at risk and community preparation to effectively handle a sudden cardiac emergency. The Foundation developed the Young Hearts for Life® Cardiac Screening Program to identify high school students at risk for Sudden Cardiac Death.
Our education programs help area physicians, healthcare professionals, and the community-at-large stay informed about the latest prevention strategies, diagnostic techniques, and treatment.
The Foundation is committed to:
- Advancing leading edge cardiovascular research in the community setting
- Developing and providing innovative programs such as Young Hearts for Life® to address public health issues related to cardiovascular and related diseases
- Offering cardiovascular education programs for healthcare professionals and the community at-large
