Midwest
Heart Foundation in collaboration with Good Samaritan Health
and Wellness Center is once again pleased to offer the Heart
Smart for Women program.
These classes are ideal for women who are concerned about
their risk for heart disease or who simply want to improve
their lifestyle and health. Heart Smart for Women is
not a diet or exercise program but rather one that
focuses on developing lifestyle skills that
will help individuals adopt and maintain physical activity
and healthy eating habits for a life time.
The 12-week step-by-step program is funded by the Illinois
Department of Public Health and is focused on helping women
reduce their risk of heart disease—the leading cause
of death among women in Illinois. It emphasizes the components
of a healthy lifestyle and will help you learn strategies
for fitting in physical activity at home, work, and
play. Making a lifestyle change takes time and commitment,
but if you are ready to start improving your health, then
this program will give you the support and motivation to get
moving!
