Pat was by far the best in the family for remembering important dates, such as birthdays, anniversaries, first day of school, leaving for college, etc. She had a way of making everyone feel special. The most important family members to Pat (next to Harry and Patrick), were the kids. Pat always showed love and concern for her nieces and nephews. Her heart held a special spot for her grandchildren, Daniel and Victoria.

The Marek family established the Patricia Marek "Young Hearts for Life" Memorial Fund to honor Pat’s memory and the love she had for children. Pat has been a supporter of the Young Hearts for Life program since it started in 2006.

All proceeds from the Memorial Fund will be directed to Midwest Heart Foundation’s Young Hearts for Life® Cardiac Screening Program. The Program screens students at area high schools for heart conditions that can cause sudden cardiac death.

The Patricia Marek "Young Hearts for Life" Memorial Fund is administered by Midwest Heart Foundation, a 501c3 public charity organization dedicated to improving cardiovascular health through education, screening and community leadership.
